READING boss Steve Coppell has taken a swipe at big-spending foreign importers Arsenal by insisting: Keep the Premiership English.

Coppell wants the FA to introduce a quota system to limit the number of foreigners.

Coppell will watch his Reading side take on Arsenal today with the Gunners likely to field only two English players in Theo Walcott and Justin Hoyte. Ex-England winger Coppell said: "The longer it goes on, it is going to affect the future success of the national side.

"I believe there should be a minimum number of home-grown players. It is great we have world stars playing in England, but it will be difficult for England to be successful on the world stage."
