Tim Henman's Grand Slam career ended in defeat and the British star didn't shed any tears.
He lost in four sets to France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 22, in the US Open second round.
Henman, 32 and six times a major semi-finalist, said: "I've had a fantastic career. I feel clear in my mind. Tennis has served me well." He will retire after Britain's Davis Cup matches at the All England Club later this month.
