Leeds Rhinos 18-12 Castleford

Leeds Rhinos' gamble almost backfired before Matt Diskin spared their blushes in an 18-12 engage Super League win over Castleford.

Leeds opted to go ahead with the fixture despite being without seven England players who starred in Friday's Test win in France.

But the Rhinos looked set for a third successive defeat when Cas led 12-4 just 14 minutes from time. Then stand-in skipper Diskin sent scrum-half Brent Webb in to score. Webb repaid the favour for Diskin to put relieved Leeds ahead for the first time.

Rhinos boss Brian McClennan said: "It was a terrific effort with 13 of our players on show coming through the Academy."
