Danny Care will get his wish to be part of Martin Johnson's new rugby era when the next England squad is named on Tuesday.
So will at least two other members of the "Auckland Four" - England stars caught up in the sex allegations that rocked the New Zealand tour.
That sordid affair is now the subject of a probe by RFU disciplinary officer Jeff Blackett.
Care said: "I'd love the chance to play again. Just being part of the England set-up was fantastic - it's left me wanting more."
Head coach Johnson is also ready to forgive David Strettle and Topsy Ojo - if not to forget their alleged part in bringing shame on the good name of English rugby.
But Johnson may well decide to dump London Irish's Mike Brown - the remaining member of the quartet - not because of anything that was alleged to have happened off the pitch but because Brown failed so badly to make the No.15 shirt his own in the opening Test.
Johnson will name a 32-man squad when the new club-country agreement sparks into life on Tuesday - the day which the World Cup winning captain says will mark the start of his new era.
Johnson faces a daunting autumn test of his management skills with games against New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the Pacific Islanders.

Care's first taste of the full international scene was a real good, bad and ugly experience.
The good was his first try for his country in the second half of the second Test in Christchurch. The bad was the painful lesson taught to him and his shell-shocked team-mates by the All Blacks. The ugly was his name being linked to the sex allegations.
Care added: "Making my debut at Eden Park - even coming on as just a replacement - will be something I will remember for the rest of my life.
"What will happen now I don't know. There are a lot of good scrumhalfs around. Harry Ellis will be coming back soon so it is going to be tough, but that's good for your rugby."
The RFU intends to announce a new Code of Conduct for players on future tours - part of which will stop them bringing girls back to the team hotel.
Harry Ellis, Paul Sackey, James Simpson-Daniel, Lewis Moody, Simon Shaw, Phil Vickery, Nick Easter, Josh Lewsey and Jonny Wilkinson all missed the tour but are expected to be included in the squad.
There will be no place this time for long term crock Danny Cipriani.
