Steve Borthwick admits he would love a second chance at captaining England.
But Borthwick, who is quitting Bath at the end of the season to join West Country rivals Gloucester, admits it will be a tough ask in New Zealand whoever is team leader.
Borthwick, who replaced an ill Phil Vickery as skipper for the Six Nations clash with Italy in Rome, could get new coach Martin Johnson's nod this week.

He and the likes of Vickery, Mike Tindall, James Haskell and Tom Rees are vying for the captaincy when the squad for the two-Test tour to New Zealand is unveiled on Tuesday.
Borthwick, unlike most of the others including Vickery, is guaranteed his place and would seem to fit the bill being a second rower like his new international boss did.
And Borthwick admits: "I really enjoyed leading the side out in Rome."
