Wimbledon: Britain's Laura Robson wins through to Girls' final

Teenage tennis wonderkid Laura Robson has made the finals of Wimbledon after winning in straight sets.

The 14-year-old Londoner beat Romana Tabakova 6-2 7-5 to reach the Girls’ final - and caused the 17-year-old so many problems the Slovak through in a sly underarm serve in a desperate bid to turn things round.

Playing on a packed Court Three, the only Brit left in any singles draw was cheered on by fans as she stormed into the final, winning the first set in just 27 minutes and losing only four points on her own serve.

Tabakova resorted to her underarm tactics in the eighth game of the second set, earning boos from the crowd, but the Aussie-born British hope still went on to book her place in the final.

The unseeded Brit, who knocked out top seed Melanie Ouding earlier in the draw, faces third seed Noppawan Lertcheewakarn of Thailand as she bids to become the first Briton to win the Girls' title since Annabel Croft in 1984.

Meanwhile, Roger Federer reached his sixth successive Men's Final with a 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 win over Marat Safin.
