Wycombe 1-1 Stockport: Gannon blast but Gleeson the hero

Stockport substitute Stephen Gleeson hit a stunning late goal to earn the Hatters a draw and boost their chances of going through to the final.

Delroy Facey's goal looked to be enough for Paul Lambert's hosts to claim a slenderlead until 19-year-old Gleeson hammered in an unstoppable volley from 25 yards with eight minutes left.

On-loan Facey was on hand to score an individual effort after Stockport keeper John Ruddy fluffed a clearance late in the first half.

Stockport boss Jim Gannon and rival Paul Lambert squared up in the technical area in a tense 90 minutes.

Afterwards Gannon blasted referee Darren Deadman.

He said: "We were fortunate because there were one or two challenges on our players which could have resulted in a serious injury.

"The referee has to protect the players more. If you want good, young players to develop, refs must be stronger."

Lambert said: "I'm sure they were unhappy with some of our challenges, but that's the game."
