It Lukes a big battle

IAN POULTER and Luke Donald are preparing to do battle for the Dunlop Phoenix title in Japan today as both men seek a first win of the year.

Poulter is the favourite, enjoying a two-shot lead over his fellow Briton following the third round at the Phoenix Country Club.

Coping well with a testing breeze, he carded four birdies, including a five-footer at the last, to card a three-under-par 67 which puts him 10 under.

Poulter said: "The wind made it a bit more difficult, but I played very, very solidly and it was nice to shoot a decent score."

Donald, back in form after identifying a swing fault, was alone in second after a 67.

He said: "It's nice to get it back. Padraig Harrington won last year and went on to great things, so you never know where it will lead."

Harrington plunged six strokes off the pace with a 73.
