Stoke City to buy Scott Carson for £4m

Stoke City are set to buy England goalkeeper Scott Carson from Liverpool for £4million.

Manager Tony Pulis has been promised cash to reinforce the Premier League newcomers by chairman Peter Coates.

Carson, 22, has had two seasons of Premier League football on loan at Charlton and Aston Villa.

Pulis believes he can make a big contribution in what will be a testing season for Stoke and the goalkeeper has been offered a four-year deal.
