Sir Alex Ferguson believes fear will drive Manchester United

EXCLUSIVE

Sir Alex Ferguson believes fear of failure will drive Manchester United to their 10th Premier League title today.

Ferguson said: "It is unthinkable that we can now finish the season without a trophy.

"We are now talking about two games in which we can either win the two biggest trophies - or lose them.

"I am confident, though, and I think the way we have performed means the players believe they are the best."

United head to Moscow on Wednesday week to take on Chelsea in the Champions League Final.

A victory today at Wigan guarantees United a 17th championship - one behind the record held by Liverpool.

And Fergie vowed: "We will definitely get past Liverpool's record one day. Hopefully it will happen in my time at the club - I've still got some damage to do yet!"

Ferguson will make a late decision on Wayne Rooney's fitness today in a bid to ensure that the England striker is ready for the Champions League Final.

Rooney has trained all week, but is still feeling some discomfort from the hip problem that has troubled him for a month.

Ferguson is fearful that Rooney's all-action style could put him at further risk, so at best he's likely to be a sub at the JJB.
