Chelsea set to transfer two-goal Nicolas Anelka

EXCLUSIVE Chelsea reign ends for Nicolas the ninth

Chelsea are poised to ditch Nicolas Anelka and set up the ninth transfer of his career.

Just five months after signing the France striker (left) from Bolton in a £15million deal the Blues are preparing for Anelka's departure. He has been sold so far for a total of £84.8m.

Anelka, 29, has failed to make a major impact since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. He has scored just two goals in 23 appearances. Anelka is ineligible to play against Bolton today in the title decider because he initially joined Chelsea on loan.

Blues boss Avram Grant is wrestling with the problem of how to bring the best out of Anelka, who has not adapted to Chelsea's style of play. He also needs to resolve Didier Drogba's future.
