Mikel Arteta will stay at Everton says David Moyes

Mikel Arteta will be missed again today as Everton bid to clinch a UEFA Cup place next season - but David Moyes is convinced he won't go missing this summer.

The talented Spaniard has struggled with an abdominal injury since New Year and will miss his club's final two games but has been constantly linked with a move back to his homeland.

But Moyes said: "I haven't had one phone call about Arteta. He signed a new five-year deal a few months ago and every indication is he wants to stay."

The Everton boss added: "Not having Mikel for a game like Arsenal is a big disadvantage because he is so talented. But this season we have shown we have strength in depth.

"In our own way we've been building like Arsenal, bringing people through, making them part of a set-up that is designed to ensure long-term stability and success."
