Fernando Torres' goal-laden first season at Liverpool is about to cost the Merseyside club an extra £350,000.
The Reds agreed to pay Atletico Madrid the extra cash if Torres scored 25 goals or more in his debut season when they splashed out a club record £26.5m to land the Spanish striker last summer.
And Torres' goal against Newcastle yesterday took his tally for the campaign to 25.
Manager Rafa Benitez believes he can go on to become an Anfield legend. He said: "I always knew Torres would be a success in England because he has the power and pace you need to play the game here."
