WEST HAM will wrap up a £5million swoop for Derby starlet Giles Barnes in January.
The Hammers almost signed Barnes, 19, in the summer only for the deal to fall through due to the winger's fitness problems.
Derby were also reluctant to lose one of their best players but their attitude has softened after their dire start to the season.
Senior figures at Pride Park are already resigned to relegation and are keen to cash in on Barnes while his transfer value is still high.
Now the Barking-born flier will complete his switch to east London when the transfer window reopens.
