Jo Jackson breaks british walking record

Jo Jackson broke the eight-year-old British 20km walking record by a wide margin with victory at the Australian Championships in Melbourne.

The 23-year-old Redcar guest entry clocked 1hr 31mins 40secs, smashing Lisa Kehler's previous best of 1hr 33mins 57secs.

Jackson, England's first international-class walker for many years, decimated her own previous fastest time of 1:36:28.
