Tyson Gay is adamant he doesn't care if he never claims the 100metres world record - even though he's got his sights on running an unbelievable 9.69seconds.
Gay won gold at the World Championships in Osaka last month but then watched as arch-rival Asafa Powell ran 9.74secs in a Grand Prix race to set the world's best time.
However, American Gay says he is much more bothered about titles and is planning to claim Olympic gold in Beijing next summer. Gay said: "Earlier this year I was maybe worrying about breaking the world record, but now I think it's better to just relax and run well and let it come to you.

"Winning titles is everything. If someone told me I had to make the choice between a gold medal or breaking the world record, I would take the gold every time. Once you get a taste of winning you want to repeat it and taking gold in Beijing would mean 10 times more than winning the World Championship. And then it is my goal to come to London in 2012 and do it again.
"I had my eye on 9.74seconds as that was a time I definitely think I can achieve. But when I look into the future, maybe the 9.7 barrier can be broken and it can come down to 9.69.
"When the world is moving, you have to move with it and it's all about evolving."
