Britain's Got Talent star Faryl Smith is having secret singing lessons arranged by Simon Cowell.
Last night millions saw talented Faryl - tipped as the new Charlotte Church - perform Ave Maria. Judge Amanda Holden said the performance gave her goose pimples while Cowell described the 12-year-old singer as "very special". Now insiders say Faryl is being groomed for success with coaching from singing tutor to the stars Yvie Burnett - paid for by Britain's Got Talent bosses.
Faryl makes a weekly 100-mile round trip from her home in Kettering to Birmingham for sessions with Yvie, who trained X Factor winner Leona Lewis and last year's Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts. A show source revealed: "Simon was blown away by Faryl. He is keen to see her do well and although she's got buckets of natural talent, he knows that can always be improved with hard work."
Faryl has already turned down bigmoney record deals.
Her dad, health and safety worker Tony Smith, said: "We have had offers from people interested in Faryl. But when Simon Cowell, the big man, says your daughter is special, you listen."
