Madonna will get full permanent adoption rights for African baby David in Malawi this week, a High Court insider in the African nation revealed. Officials there will review a report on Thursday about how the two-year-old has settled into family life, and approve the adoption.
Madge, 49, is not due in court for the hearing but will sign documents and visit various projects she funds in the country. She said: "I am building a girls' school and orphan care centre. I want to go back and check in on everybody."
The report by a Malawi official on David's progress says: "He continues to develop into a happy thriving toddler. His survival, growth and development is excellent." Madonnna was granted temporary adoption in October 2006.
