A boy of five died yesterday after the car he was travelling in crashed after hitting a cow.
The youngster's father, 41, was driving when they struck the animal in the road in Newmains, North Lanarkshire, at 3.50am.
The boy was taken to hospital but died later. His father suffered minor injuries.
