Stuntman crashes £130k Aston Martin into lake as they make new 007 movie

A stuntman has written off James Bond's Aston Martin by driving it into a lake... and the cameras weren't even rolling.

The driver lost control of 007 Daniel Craig's £130,000 DBS beside Lake Garda in Northern Italy - where the opening action scenes for new Bond movie Quantum Of Solance are being filmed - early yesterday.

He swam ashore and was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The crumpled car was later pulled out of the water by a crane.

Last night executive producer Anthony Waye said: "Around 6.30am under a heavy shower the car came off the road and ended up in the lake.

"The driver was slightly hurt and is expected to be released from hospital shortly."

Producers took delivery of five Aston Martins ahead of the Lake Garda scenes.

Two were sprayed with fake bullet holes. The third was the one driven into the water by accident yesterday.

Quantum Of Solace is due for release in November... so long as they don't run out of cars.
