A police force plans to slash the time bobbies spend at their desks by giving them Blackberry hand-held computers.
It will link them to the Police National Computer, the electoral roll and other databases on the beat.
Notts Police say it will cut office time from 50 to 20 per cent in a scheme that could go nationwide.
