Gordon Brown is facing calls to let Britain vote for the date of a new Bank Holiday in a national competition aimed at celebrating Britishness.
A special day off to mark Remembrance Day is included in a list drawn up by campaigners who want the public to decide.
Britain has eight Bank Holidays against a European average of 11.
The PM is considering ways we could celebrate our national identity along the lines of America's 4th of July Independence Day - and the Fabian Society think-tank want him to give us all a say in an X Factor-style TV vote.
Other possible dates include a Shakespeare and St George's Day on April 23 and Suffrage Day on July 2 - the date in 1928 when all women got the vote.
