Robbie's uncle to Harry trio

Larger-than-life actor Robbie Coltrane yesterday said he was like an uncle to the three teenage Harry Potter stars.

The former wildman, who enjoyed boozy nights out with Debbie Harry and Andy Warhol, revealed he has become a family figure to the rising stars.

Coltrane said he has watched Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint become transformed into young adults since they began filming the series of blockbusters.

He said: "I saw Dan the other day and he had grown a beard and talked in a booming voice.

"They were all 11 when they started, so it has been great watching them grow up. I feel like their invisible uncle."

Coltrane, 57, also said he loves teasing children who don't recognise him without his cloak and beard.

He added: "Kids don't recognise me, but their parents point me out to get Brownie points in Tesco. But I say, 'No your mother's wrong'."
