TONY Blair met the president of Kazakhstan yesterday but one person was missing - Borat Sagdiyev.

However, Nursultan Nazarbayev laughed off the insults to his country by the fictional Kazakh TV reporter - alter ego of Brit comic Sacha Baron Cohen - in his box office hit Borat.

Mr Nazarbayev said : "This film was created by a comedian so let's laugh at it - that's my attitude." As Borat might well say: "There is no such thing as bad publicises. Nice."
